Mindset: If You Sold 100 Items Today…

PrettiBoneMindset15 Comments

I was listing the other day and for some reason, a really interesting question popped on my mind that I would like to ask you guys...

If you got 100 sales from your Poshmark closet today, will you be able to ship it all out the same day? Of course you can, it's 100 sales!!!

My follow-up question is...Then why can't you have that same energy and attitude to list 100 items a day?

I Just Don't Get It

I'm really worried when I scroll through Instagram to see people talking about how they got 2, 4, 5 listings up in 1 day. I'm worried because when I compare that kind of workload to their other past posts, something doesn't add up. How can we claim we want to do well on Poshmark but in the next breath treat it like it's a hobby. True, most of us are reselling because we just to get rid of clothes, I'm not talking about those people. I'm talking about those that claim how much of a "Poshboss" they are but can't even put in the work to back their claim. Seems to me like it's an old case of "Too many Chiefs and not enough Indians". Trust me, there's no damn quote in the world you can put on your bio or Instagram post that can replace WORK. For those of us that feel this is the perfect time to come in with the "Everyone works at their own pace" quote...you can keep that to yourself.

Your Logic Might Be Broken

Let's go back to the question I posited in the beginning of this post. How is it that you can be comfortable with thinking you can ship 100 items in 1 day yet you won't even list 100 items in one day? The 100 isn't important, it can be 75, 50...it doesn't matter. My point is, are you even ready to put in the work required to gain what you want? Think about it, how can 100 of your items get sold if you can't even list 100?! That, my friends, is a prime example of getting stuff backwards. That simply tells me you want what you don't deserve which is really sad.

Here Comes the Red Pill

There are no participation awards when it comes to reselling or business in general. You can't "WIN" just because you said you won, that's not how this works. Please refrain from using the "hard work" phrase just because you thought you worked hard. 5 pieces? That should take no more than 25-30 minutes with steaming, pictures and listing included. If you're spending 30 minutes on your so called business everyday day (most of us don't even do it every day) then call it for what it is...a hobby. Don't take this the wrong way, just understand what side you're on with this reselling stuff and accept it. If you don't want to accept it, then work harder by putting in the real time needed for you to be the best reseller you can be.

This Isn't Up For Discussion

I'm not the objective measuring stick for what hard work looks like, however I do know what hard work doesn't look like. Mix the hobby mentality in with some false bravado and you will have a disaster. If you took this post the wrong way and this is the last time you're going to visit this blog, so be it. I'm not here to make you feel good about yourself. For those of you that knows exactly what I'm talking about, the good news is you can change this.

I hope we can be more objective about ourselves moving forward. If you're asking me what's the first step, remove everything that has to do with you  being a Poshboss,  Ambassador or entrepreneur from your bio and posts to humble yourself.
