I see the negative comments on my social media pages, the negative comments about PrettiBone on other social media pages that people send to me. These people for some reason wants PrettiBone to go down because they couldn't put in the hard work themselves to pull off what was done in the past year.

This Was All Mapped Out Months Back

Everything that's going on is not by accident. This game plan required so much planning on the back end that it looks so seamless in the front. A negative person can't just come in and think they can bring this down. All worse case scenarios were discussed and contingency plans are ready to be deployed. Let's just put it like this, even if Poshmark terminated PrettiBone's account, I already have a workaround in place. I even planned for the unlikely case where everyone on PrettiBone's social media turns against PrettiBone.

At this point, there is nothing anyone can do to stop this train. I don't care if the haters are more popular than PrettiBone in terms of "followers" or who they know. It doesn't matter when none of those people can stop me from doing what I have planned. I don't need to be in any clique and I don't need anyone to co-sign for PrettiBone's legitimacy. I started this knowing that I needed to always be in the position where nobody can have leverage over PrettiBone, not even Poshmark.

I feel sorry that these people feel that they need to attack or bash someone's hustle just because they couldn't do it themselves. This isn't about who is the most popular nor is it about whose been around the longest. I'm playing for a different prize, it's called LEGACY. The imprint PrettiBone will have will be undeniable, I can promise you that. The haters can sit there and call me arrogant and cocky but their opinions don't matter because there is nothing that they can do to derail this project at this point. Everything is already funded and the networks are already in place. I even have people that keep me updated on what some of these haters are saying; we're beyond playing chess at this point.

Too Much Is Going On Behind the Scenes

I'm sure you've already heard that what you're seeing on social media is not everything that's going on, this situation is no different. Behind the scenes is where the magic really happens, but only a few chunks at a time will be made public. The haters are just going to have to sit around with white knuckles and wait.

It sucks that I came into this game with nothing but good intentions but people are trying to bring out the bad in me (that's not going to happen). My optimism trumps any negative thing that's put on my plate. I take the hate in stride by converting it into more motivation, this how you're supposed to live life by the way.

I guess I should still thank the haters for following my journey even if it's out of hate or envy because they're just fueling me, so THANK YOU!

When I first started, I knew I wanted PrettiBone to become one of the top-earning accounts on Poshmark and other platforms to come. Deep down inside I knew that I was chasing a ghost and that ghost's name is Linda Lightman. I find her business and operation to be so admirable and the last time I checked, she was doing $25 million in sales. That's about $68 thousand a day if you're about to whip out your calculator. Needless to say, that a ridiculous number, I would love just to do 1/10th of that.

Why is this Important?

INSPIRATION. I'm so inspired by Linda that I have modeled my reselling business behind hers because success leaves clues. If someone is doing the same thing you're doing, in this case reselling, and is doing it at the highest level, why would you not strive to be even a fraction of who they are? They're essentially giving you a shortcut to success and you're not taking it with the highest gratitude. Really, the answers are out there, you just have to find your own shortcuts to those answers.

Which Brings Me to My Main Point

Why would you still play in this reselling sandbox if all you want to do is stay small? Don't let kids and work get in the way of you making it big (I'm in the same boat with a daughter and a daytime job in Hollywood). I know you're explicitly saying that you want to stay small but your actions speak for itself.

I'm so tired of people talking on social media about how you should go at your own pace and be happy about where you're at. All this fake pep talk from the bigger accounts that recycle quotes makes me so mad because they're just talking and they don't even know where you're at as a reseller. How can someone say that you're just fine where you're at when they haven't even seen your sales and profit numbers? These blanket statements are so inaccurate and leads people to believe that they're fine where they're at.

I see it differently. Wherever you're at in your reselling journey, just know that you can do so much more. If you're listing 10 a day, figure out how to list 100. If you're selling 2 a day, push harder so you can get to 10+ sales a day. That's simply my advice to you, whatever you're doing, understand that you can do so much more. This core belief has taken me this far in my short 11-month journey on Poshmark and I'm sure it will work for you.

If you can't get with this mentality, it's probably best if you just stop following me now because I'm going to be ratcheting this up REAL fast. If you are satisfied with where you're at with reselling, unfollow PrettiBone. If you think you're doing the most you can, unfollow PrettiBone. And lastly, if you're easily amused by these people posting up filtered and staged photos, definitely unfollow PrettiBone. I'm not the person you want to keep following if you fall into one of these categories. Honestly, don't even waste your time with me.

Sorry, it had to be said.

Say it with me:

I will make sure my sales are bigger than my mouth

I will make sure my sales are bigger than my mouth

I will make sure my sales are bigger than my mouth

So many of us have our carts way ahead of our horse. Please don't make this mistake by getting it twisted that your words will make you more sales. NOTHING will make you more sales besides putting in work. It's a shame that some of us are more concerned with yapping about how well we're doing when the numbers aren't adding up. I hope they do know it's quite simple for anyone to audit their sales. Don't ask me why but I do keep tabs on people (it's not because I'm nosy, I'm just conduction my own "independent research").

If you feel I'm speaking with an attitude because I'm on my high horse, I'm not going to change your mind.

My problem with these types of sellers is that their advice and critique towers their sales. Thisdoesn'tmakesenseGina!.

Long story short, a person told me how I should run my Poshmark closet (with an attitude) when my method has been refined over and over again till this day. This is not to say it's perfect, it's just to say it's way more effective than theirs.

Moral of the story, before you allow anyone to get inside your head about what you're doing wrong, audit their closet first before you waste any more of your time.

This also goes for those that are pushing a social media that doesn't stack up with their sales. We have a problem with too many people trying to climb the clout mountain without climbing the work mountain first. It's really simple...sales are the lifeblood of every business. If you don't have any, that's what you need to focus on first before you focus on other people.

Of course, I always welcome constructive criticism but there's a fine line between you doing it yourself and you just telling others to do something you wouldn't even do. If you're not in the trenches with everyone else putting in work, your words are irrelevant to me.

Remember, armchair quarterbacks will NEVER win a championship ring.

Rant over.

Note that the minimum you can sell an item for is $3 and Poshmark does not allow for decimals (e.g. $5.99) when it comes to pricing, only whole numbers are accepted. Here's the commission schedule for items that are $3-$14:

You're entering dangerous territory here due to the fee % increase relative to the sale price

So is the first fee structure fair? Simply put, yes.
Logically it would make sense to have a fixed fee for low priced items. Just think of it as the cost of doing business not just for you but for Poshmark. They gotta receive something on their end to process the payment and other administrative costs that might arise for moderating returns.

It's not Poshmark's fault you're selling low priced items, it's your fault. I myself have many $14 and below items in my closet but I use a simple method to get around this 21% and above fee cost. I'll explain this method on another post and leave you guys hanging for now...

The 20% Fee

I'm sure this part is what you're here for and what applies to most of us.
The 20% commission fee can be better understood when you look at this through the lens of an uninterested party.

By answering these questions, maybe it will make more sense to you:

1. Have you ever built a website that gets consistent traffic?
2. Do you do anything administrative/technical for the Poshmark platform?
3. When problems occur on the app, are you the first one to fix that problem?
4. How much time are you saving considering you don't have to market your own platform?

Those 4 questions that should steer you to the right answer. But for some of us, we need a little more convincing, so I'll continue...

The fact that you can sit on the toilet and make a listing that will be visible to thousands if not, tens of thousands of people in the next minute is a miracle many of us take for granted. The internet and platforms like Poshmark did not just happen, I'm sure you know that. But to think a 20% commission is not worth the time, risk and development cost is greed on our end, not Poshmark's. If you're savvy enough, go make your own e-commerce platform and let everyone know how that works out for you. By the way, I did try to do it myself to sell clothes, so I kinda know what I'm talking about here. And the fact that we're still on Poshmark's platform speaks volumes about our confidence in ourselves to pull off our own platform. I'm not saying it's impossible, I'm saying it's really difficult.

Some Other Things

I saw something on Instagram the other day that really irked me. Someone had the nerve to say the "profit" Poshmark makes on the 20% commission fee is in the billions and that they should lower it to 10% which would still make them billions. Apparently, this person doesn't know what profit means and don't understand how much 1 billion is. In othe words, truly understand what this commission fee means and be fair about your assessment before bashing the 20% fee.

I rarely defend Poshmark on its decisions but I do agree with their 20% comission completely. As you probably know from my Instagram posts, I have a lot of harsh words for Poshmark but I do know where to draw the line and know what hand is feeding me. I have no reservations about this and would gladly account for the 20% it when I'm running my numbers; you should too.

I leave you with a quote I read that hopefully will drive the point home. "The same people that complain about the 20% Poshmark fee are the same people that complain about paying taxes after winning the Lotto."

We all need to be as happy as this Lotto winner
